I normally don’t venture into politics in my blog posts but after this long and contentious election season, I wanted to share a few tools with you that may be helpful as we navigate the days ahead.
When I woke up on the morning of November 9th, I was aware of a very uncomfortable energy. I actually felt it in my body and it was really quite intense! My body ached and I had chills running up and down my spine. Ouch!
Tool Number 1 – Ask questions
One of the tools in Access Consciousness® that is powerful is that whenever we are perceiving something to avoid going into conclusion and ask questions. When we go into conclusion and label something, we actually create it and solidify it into existence. We also cut ourselves off from being aware of anything else it might be in that moment. So I casually asked these 4 simple questions:
What is this?
What do I do with it?
Can I change it?
If so, how can I change it?
Using this tool of asking questions can often shift the energy immediately. And remember, you are not necessarily looking for an answer. It can be an energy, an insight or an awareness that defies words or a description. When I tuned into what was happening with my body, I became aware that I was perceiving and receiving the angst and upset from many about the election results. This leads me to my next tool about how to handle that.
Tool Number 2 – Who does this belong to?
Access Consciousness® reminds us that most of our thoughts, feelings and emotions do not belong to us personally. We are far more aware than we realize and are very often energetically tuned in to the people around us. I like to describe it as an invisible ‘thoughtmosphere’ that we live in. Whenever we are noticing ourselves going into some stuck or heavy pattern, it’s important to ask: Who does this belong to? If the thought or emotion lightens up even in the slightest, chances are it’s not yours. Then ask it to please “return it to sender” It’s really that simple.
Tool Number 3 – Get your Bars run
The Access Bars are a body process that consists of 32 points on the head. When these points are lightly held it deletes any thoughts, judgments or points of view that are keeping you stuck. Just like you would delete old files on your computer. It’s very relaxing, soothing & healing. It’s not uncommon for my clients to fall asleep and wake up feeling relaxed & refreshed. If you find yourself feeling distressed about the election, maybe a Bars session would be a contribution to you?
Tool Number 4 – Go on a social media and news fast
Unfortunately, much of our media tends to focus on the drama and trauma of life instead of what’s possible. Is it really kind to bombard ourselves with all that gloom and doom thinking? If you find yourself being effected by it, I suggest you unplug for awhile. Deactivate your Facebook account, turn off the television and limit your time on the internet to when it truly works for you. Who knows? It may make your experience of asking Who Does This Belong To even easier.
It’s important now more than ever to stay out of the fear-based thinking and negative forecasting. Do we really want to actualize more of that? If we would like to create a different experience of living, than we’re going to have to be different and make different choices.
